What’s Next for Estate Management? My Predictions for 2025
Is anyone else as excited as I am for 2025?
The world of estate management is always evolving fast, and this new year promises some exciting changes. Whether you’re managing one estate or a portfolio of properties, staying ahead of trends is key to providing exceptional service and grabbing new clients’ attention.
For this blog, I sat down and put together a list, drawing on my experiences and industry insights from 2024, of where I think our profession is headed in 2025—and how we as EMs can set ourselves up to thrive.
1. Wellness-Focused Living Spaces
Wellness has ceased to be a nice-to-have and is becoming a top priority for luxury clients. They’re looking for homes that feel like sanctuaries, with features like meditation rooms, spa-esque bathrooms, and spaces that encourage relaxation.
My tip: Add wellness experts or interior designers who specialize in creating calming, nature-inspired environments to your network. Partner with people in the know, and your clients will marvel at the wellness boosts you bring to their spaces this year.
2. Concierge-Level Personalized Services
Today’s clients expect more than just management—in 2025 the trend will move even more towards white-glove, concierge-style service. Whether it’s planning exclusive events or arranging a seamless travel experience, personalization is the name of the game.
My tip: Focus on perfecting your network of go-to vendors who can help you deliver those next-level touches effortlessly and flawlessly.
3. Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection
As smart homes and connected devices become the norm, estate managers need to think beyond physical security. Protecting sensitive data and personal information will be an ever more vital part of our role moving forward.
My tip: This one is for those EMs who’ve been putting this one off: face your fear! Cybersecurity doesn’t have to be intimidating. Again, partner with trusted experts and make it a regular and routine part of your estate management routine.
4. Aging in Place (AIP) Adaptations
Did you notice the growth in the demand for AIP services in 2024?
More and more of our clients are choosing to stay in their homes as they age, which means that in 2025 and beyond, we’ll see an increased demand for accessibility upgrades. Think elevator installations, safety features, and designs that prioritize comfort and dignified living.
My tip: Don’t be afraid to raise these ideas with your clients early—it shows you’re forward-thinking and genuinely care about their long-term well-being.
5. Focus on Mental Health and Work-Life Balance
Let’s be honest: estate management can be a high-pressure job. Balancing it all isn’t always easy, but 2025 is all about prioritizing mental health—for ourselves, our teams, and even our clients.
My tip: This year, give yourself permission to take breaks and delegate when you need to. Self-care is just as important as caring for others! Do one and you’ll be far better at the other.
6. Strategic Outsourcing and Vendor Management
No one can do it all, and that’s okay.
In 2025 think of strategic outsourcing. Knowing what elements of your EM business to delegate to third parties will become even more vital as we juggle growing responsibilities. Having a reliable network of vendors makes life so much easier.
My tip: Use digital tools to track vendor performance and simplify communication. It’ll save you time and headaches!
7. Managing Multiple Properties
My impression over the course of 2024 was that fewer and fewer EMs are taking care of just one property.
For those of us managing multiple estates, organization is everything. With clients moving between homes—or even continents—it’s essential to keep all the details centralized and under control.
My tip: Invest in property management software to streamline scheduling, staff coordination, and maintenance. There are some great tools out there.
8. Collaboration as the New Norm
Gone are the days of going it alone. Estate managers are increasingly sharing tips, resources, and even challenges with one another. Collaboration makes all of us better. I hope my content is a good example of this.
My tip: Join industry groups or online forums. Sharing insights can spark ideas and even help you tackle real challenges alongside people you may otherwise have seen purely as rivals.
9. Sustainability as a Must-Have
Make no mistake: in 2024 sustainability went from buzzword to must-have.
Clients care deeply about sustainability, and in 2025 more than ever, it’s up to us to incorporate eco-friendly practices into their properties. From energy-efficient systems to sustainable landscaping, green living is no longer a luxury—it’s an expectation.
My tip: Start small with quick wins like LED lighting or water-saving irrigation systems. It all adds up to your over-arching sustainability goals.
10. Greater Emphasis on Emotional Intelligence
Managing estates isn’t just about logistics—it’s about people. Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the EM superpower to nurture in 2025. It will be more vital than ever in understanding your clients’ needs, resolving conflicts, and leading your team with empathy.
My tip: Listen actively, ask thoughtful questions, and focus on genuine connections.
11. Tech-Driven Operations
In 2025, treat tech as a close friend.
Technology is transforming how we manage estates. From AI-powered tools to smart home systems, tech can make our work more efficient and our clients’ lives easier.
My tip: Stay curious! Experiment with new digital products tailored to estate managers and watch them simplify your day-to-day operations.
Looking Ahead
Excited yet?
Estate management in 2025 is going to be dynamic and full of opportunities to grow. By staying adaptable and embracing new and ongoing trends, we can continue to provide unparalleled service and make meaningful impacts in our clients’ lives.
